A lovely respond to Lorn Potter of Trolltech
I just love that people hold Trolltech to some higher threshold. For some, nothing that TT can do is ever good enough, or that Trolltech has a special, evil GPL, which isn't truly open source somehow, since TT doesn't have public source development repositories.
TT releases Greenphone with some close source and closed kernel drivers and gets backlashed, the Neo is released with closed kernel drivers, and a license that allows closed source and is touted as the first open source linux phone.
umm excuse me! LGPL is not about free and open source software! hello! "Dont lend your hand to raise no flag atop no ship of fools."
One of the differences is that Trolltech is not a hardware company, FIC is. TT contracted the hardware from a vendor and what you see is what Trolltech was given. Neo was designed by FIC.
